Gokyo Lakes with Mark Inglis

An exciting opportunity to trek with Mark Inglis one of New Zealand’s most accomplished mountaineers and the first double amputee to summit Everest, Following his ascent of Everest, he created Limbs4All in 2006 to provide direct assistance to some of the 400 million disabled people worldwide.
Mark will lead 20 or so adventure seeking Kiwis through one of his favourite Himalayan regions, departing 21 March 2010 and returning 10 April 2010. With the help of World Expeditions’ expreienced ground crew, he will provide a real insight into Nepalese culture and even assist anyone who wishes to take up the opportunity to climb Gokyo Ri (5483m). Marks tales of adventure and survival along with his expert ability to motivate and inspire others will create a unique experience that will be unforgettable for all involved.
Gokyo Lakes is a beautiful region at the head of the Dudh Kosi Valley providing tranquil trekking through the Sherpa heartland of Nepal. Affording ample time for acclimatisation, the trip’s route is a great alternative to the popular Everest Base Camp trek. Highlights over the 21 days will include the giant Buddhist stupa at Bodhnath, Thangboche Monastery, Namche Bazaar, stunning views of Mount Everest and surrounds and a spectacular return Himalayan mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The trip will involve 12 nights camping, 4 nights in hotels and 3 nights in an eco-lodge
